What Is The Golden Eagle Run?

The Golden Eagle Run is a partnership event hosted by the Naples High School Band Boosters Inc. and Gulf Coast Runners to benefit the students of the Naples High School Band Program. This event takes place in the tranquil Naples neighborhood of Coquina Sands and attracts over 500 runners and spectators from around the nation. Proceeds from this event allow the students of the Naples High Band Program to purchase new equipment, compete in local and state competitions, and perform at various venues throughout the year. Student performances are partnered with significant musical education opportunities, whether that is studying with Disney’s expert musicians and marching in a parade through Disney World, participating in a college bowl pre-show in Atlanta, or attending professional student workshops in California, New York, Montreal and Chicago.

Why Do We Need To Fundraise?

The cost of running a quality band program this large and inclusive is quite expensive. Our goal is to maintain affordable program fees, to allow 100% participation of our band students, while eliminating the worry of the financial burden with this supplemental fund raising. Currently the Naples High Band Program faces two main challenges. The first is outdated equipment/technology. A majority of the equipment the students are using is over 20 years old. These instruments have exceeded their limits of repair and our music technology systems are far behind today’s current capabilities. The second issue the program faces is 46% of Naples High students are deemed economically needy. This presents a challenge when students wish to participate in extra-curricular activities such as the band program where fees are required.  For this reason our Booster organization is dedicated to ensuring that all students have the ability to participate through our fundraising efforts. Currently, our music program receives an annual stipend from the District and some assistance through concession sales. We know that with your assistance our students will be able to move on after high school to pursue collegiate/international program levels with the confidence and knowledge of a world class musical education.

In addition, our heart of Naples location draws an average of 5,000 community members at each of our home games. Runner Information

The Golden Eagle Run is a chip timed race, starting at Lowdermilk Park and traveling a course through the tranquil streets of Coquina Sands and the Moorings neighborhoods and returning to Lowdermilk Park to the finish line.

Pre-registration begins now through February 22rd until 10:00pm EST or register on race day at 6:45 am.
Pre-Registration Fee is: $25.00, Race Day Registration Fee is: $30.00.

Youth Pre-Registration Fee (18 & under) is: $15.00, Student Race Day Fee is: $20.00.
(Student discount will be applied at checkout.)

The 1 Mile Fun Run Registration is free.

The first 300 runners to register receive a Limited Edition Insulated Bag and Water Bottle.

The Naples High School Marching Band will perform to start the race off and at the finish line as each of the runners cross the line.  Hand painted Coconut Trophies will be awarded to the top finishers in each class.
